Frequently asked questions

Who is BimaFlow for?

Insurance agencies and brokers in Kenya that want one system for clients, policies, premium collection, claims, underwriter commissions and renewals.

How much does it cost?

Your plan follows the number of active policies you manage: Starter is KES 2,500 a month for up to 200, Professional is KES 6,500 for 201 to 1,000, and Enterprise is KES 13,000 for more than 1,000. All core modules are included on every plan.

What are the add-ons?

Renewal reminders by SMS, M-Pesa premium collection, bulk SMS and analytics are optional add-ons you can switch on from your agency's settings.

Which classes of insurance are supported?

Motor (private, commercial, PSV, third party and motorcycle), medical for individuals, families and groups, general classes such as WIBA, domestic package, fire, burglary, all risks, liability, marine, travel and personal accident, and life classes including life assurance, education and last expense.

How are levies and stamp duty handled?

The training levy and the Policyholders Compensation Fund levy are calculated on the basic premium and stamp duty is added per policy. Life and pension classes are exempt.

How are commissions tracked?

You set each underwriter's commission rate by class. Commission is worked out on every policy, and when an underwriter remits you allocate the payment to the policies it covers.

Does BimaFlow hold premium money?

No. Premiums are paid to your agency, by M-Pesa, bank, cheque or cash. BimaFlow records each payment against its policy and shows what is still outstanding.

Who in my agency can see what?

Each person gets a role: Owner, Agency Manager, Underwriting Officer, Claims Officer, Accounts Officer or Sales Agent, and sees only what that role allows.
